Have Your Cake & Eat It Too… No Really Protein Cake It’s In My Macros!

So Josh got to come home last night from his business trip! We get him till Sunday, so I wanted to have a special surprise waiting for him when he arrived…. Okay, get your head out of the gutter lol I just baked him a cake ;-)

The best solution payday loans

Are we having cheat meal? Nope. What if I told you that you could just pretend to go to the dark side without having to actually go……

I’m not gonna lie to you and tell you that this is a clean eating recipe, it’s not. I cheated and used a sugar free cake mix. We all know, unfortunately they put all kinds of bad additives in them. Outside of the additives in the mix itself, it is a healthy recipe. Here are the ingredients I used…..

                                          Yellow Protein Cake

  • Pillsbury Moist Supreme Sugar Free Classic Yellow Cake
  • 1 Cup of Water
  • 1/3 Cup of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 6 Egg Whites
  • 1 1/2 Cup of BodyCrunch Whey Protein Crunchies

If you are wondering what the Body Crunch Whey Protein crunchies are, I did a review on them a few weeks ago CLICK HERE There is also currently a GIVEAWAY going! I suggest you enter to win! ;-) They are just one of the AWESOME products that Body360 Nutritionals has! BodyCrunch was just added to the Top 10 Food Trends at The Natural Products West Expo this past weekend! You can read more about that HERE

                             Chocolate Protein Frosting

  • 1 Cup Fage Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Scoop Syntha-6 Chocolate Cake Protein Powder
  • 1 packet of NuStevia
  • 1 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder

Okay, to start Pre heat your oven to 325 degrees

then add the egg whites. I know the package says 3 whole eggs. I am trying to save on my fat macros, so I only used egg whites. I used 6 because we are adding the protein crunchies ;-)

mms_img-1494314653Add the oil last because it will harden once it comes in contact with anything cold, which makes it mix weird.

Then add your protein crunchies and mix well!

Mix well and you are ready to add it to your cake!

One serving of cake is 45 grams so the macros for just the cake plain are as follows:

  • Calories:  250
  • Carbs: 35
  • Fat: 12
  • Protein:11

One serving of Frosting is 14 Grams with the macros as follows:

  • Calories: 22
  • Carbs: 2
  • Fat: 0
  • Protein: 3

Overall a great way to indulge without really having to actually cheat ;-)
