Garlic Cheese Bread No No into a Yes Yes!!!

I have been craving Italian lately SO bad!!!! Just anything with pasta sauce. Tomato, basil, oregano, and garlic greatness!!!!

Unfortunately, when cutting weight most Italian food is a no no. This can make things really hard when you have cravings lol. It is seriously enough to make me go crazy!!!!

Instead of suffering, I have been hunting for alternative recipes. I have found a ton on Pinterest, but they always seem to need a little tweaking to get them just right. A couple of nights ago I wanted garlic cheese bread, so I made a cauliflower garlic cheese crust that worked as a great alternative! It was super easy!!!!

I started by pre-heating the oven to 400 degrees.

Then with half a head of cauliflower, I cut the florets off and placed them in my food chopper.

Chop them into rice. You can also use a cheese grater and get the same effect.

Put the rice in a bowl and microwave about 3 mins then let cool. I usually stick it in the freezer so it will cool quickly. Once cool I add all my seasonings. You can add whatever you like. You can take this from Italian to Mexican by just changing the spices! Here I added oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, pepper, and parsley, then mix well.

From there I added one egg white. Most recipes add the whole egg, but I have a low fat count in my macros and with adding a little bit of cheese, I just omit it.

Again, mix well then press onto your pre-greased cookie sheet or pizza pan.

I baked the crust for 25 mins or until the edges were crispy

Then I put it back in on broil to brown the top. I am a bad blogger, because I forgot to snap a picture of it. Whoops!!!!

Next add your cheese and slip it back in to just melt and brown the cheese.

As you can see I used little cheese, because we are trying to keep the fat count low. This is one of our favorite dishes!!!! I love when people think eating healthy means eat bland tasteless food. We love food like anyone else, we just find healthier alternatives for the foods we love!!!!

What are some of your favorite foods that you would like a healthier alternative for? Today is family fun day. We will spend it packing the house up for the next big move. Hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!!!!
